whats the popular electronic recorder, i mean i would like to record tv shows and basketball/baseball/football games whiile i am away…

please include the brand, required device and the average cost for that..i know people used to use VHS like 15 years ago but i dont know how about today..

You can subscribe to “Tivo” but then you are paying to rent or own their device as well as a monthly fee.

I bought a Philips DVR that I love. They don’t seem to be available very often. I’m not sure if there are any out right now. You can set to time record once, daily, or weekly. The one I have can also edit and burn to dvd.

I think mine cost between $200 to $300 but that was about a year ago.

Some HD cable or satelite providers offer DVRs that will record HD programming as well.

A lot of computers are now being sold with Window Media DVR programs and inputs included.
